Workplace Bullying: Teachers as Targets

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Ever increasing awareness of the detrimental effects of bullying on students has become front and centre in education. But what of those professionals assigned the task of protecting students? Are they immune from being targeted themselves? When they are, where do they turn? This presentation addresses these issues, identifies warning signs, investigates the harmful effects and provides strategies for dealing with bullying in the workplace. From colleagues, to supervisors, to parents, and even students, teachers seem to be very much in the "crosshairs". Where do teachers turn when they are targeted and how do they even know? An essential part of this presentation is to reduce the stigma of being a target of bullying behaviour. Opportunities for discussion and for follow-up strategies are provided as part of this interactive presentation.
